Carlyle Lake
Ok, I know Lake Carlyle is not in Missouri but a lot of sailors from St. Louis, Mo. sail there. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began construction October 18, 1958. Lake Carlyle, the largest man-made lake in Illinois, consists of 26,000 acres of water approximately 8 miles long and 3 miles wide. The lake is located about 55 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. There are three main marinas on Lake Carlyle, West Access Marina, Keyesport Marina and Boulder Marina. Both Boulder Yacht Club & Carlyle Sailing Association call this lake home.
