Longview Lake
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineer begain construction of Longview lake in Sept. 1979. It has 930 acres of water, a full service
marina, swimming beach and water skiing. The lake is located one mile south of I-470 on Raytown Road.
There is no horsepower limit on Longview
Lake. You will see more Motorboats, Bassboats, Skiboats, Jetskis and people with more horsepower than brains, all over the
place. Sailboats are almost nonexistant. This lake is in my backyard.
Boats no longer than 30 feet in length or 10 feet in width may
be operated on Jackson County Lakes. Boat permits must be obtained from the Jackson County Department of Parks and
Recreation. |
