Believe it or not Kansas is a pleasure boater's paradise. The state contains over 200,000 acres of water with over 90,000 registered boats. With 24 major reservoirs and numerous smaller impoundments, Kansas has an abundance of sailing water. The one primary requirement for sailing, wind, is also predictably present on typically windy Kansas Lakes. All Kansas state parks located on reservoirs have small craft launching facilities suitable for sailing craft. (Note: User fees and vehicle entrance fees are required at all State Parks.)
