Truman Lake A 55,600 acre reservoir is one of the Midwest's largest and most popular lake with nearly 1,000 miles of shoreline. Visitor facilities are well developed, including a state park and a Corps visitor center at the dam. Public-use areas offer campgrounds, marinas, beaches and boat ramps. Many family resorts provide direct access to the water. More lodging, dining, shopping and services are in nearby Warsaw, Clinton, Windsor, Osceola and other towns. There are several full-service marinas on the lake. This lake is fairly new. Sailboats are not seen very often. I'm told that the fishing is great. I wouldn't know, I'm not into fishing.
